Dream & Design

Every build starts with your story. We take the time to understand your goals, your gear, and how you want to use your van 90% of the time. We'll sketch concepts, talk through layouts, and make sure the design is built around your lifestyle — not ours.

Why it's different We're not pushing a template. Every layout is designed from scratch around how you actually adventure — whether that's chasing powder, biking trails, working remotely, or living full-time on the road.

Plan & Prepare

Next, we line up every detail before touching your van. We source high-quality components from our trusted brand partners, map out the systems and layout, and make sure every part of the build is ready to go. This keeps the process smooth and avoids costly surprises mid-build.

Why it's different Our planning phase is thorough because we treat your van like our own. No shortcuts, no guessing — just a clear roadmap that keeps you informed and your timeline on track.

Build & Craft

This is where your vision comes to life. From cabinetry and wiring to finishes and storage, every cut and connection is done by hand in our Aspen shop. We pride ourselves on precision and durability — creating rigs that can handle real mountain conditions for years to come.

Why it's different We're outdoor people who build rigs we'd use ourselves. That means your van isn't just pretty — it's functional, rugged, and engineered for the trails, mountains, and back roads you actually travel.

Test & Deliver

Before we hand you the keys, we test every system and feature to make sure your van is road-ready. Then we walk you through every detail — showing you how to use your new systems, and making sure you leave with complete confidence in your rig.

Why it's different You don't just get a van — you get peace of mind. Our 1-year warranty and ongoing after-build support means WRO is still your partner long after delivery day.

Full build at a time
Most full builds at WRO range from $40,000 to $150,000+, depending on the platform, scope of systems, and materials. A weekend warrior Sprinter with a simple electrical setup and basic interior sits at the lower end. A full off-grid expedition build with lithium, solar, a diesel heater, and premium cabinetry is at the higher end.
We work within your budget and can phase the build if needed — not everything has to happen at once. Submit your project brief and we'll put together a scope that makes sense for what you actually want.
Active build time is typically 12 to 16 weeks from the day we start on your van. Lead time to get into our schedule is usually 1 to 3 months depending on where we are in the current build. We take on one full build at a time, so when your slot starts, your van gets our complete focus. Submit your brief and we can give you a realistic timeline based on our current schedule.
We primarily build full conversions on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter — it's the most capable platform for four-season mountain use and offers the best range of roof heights and wheelbases. We also do upgrades, electrical work, and partial builds on the Ford Transit, Winnebago Revel, and Storyteller Overland vans. Not sure which platform is right for you? We're happy to talk through the tradeoffs before you buy.
No — plenty of our clients come to us before they've purchased their van. We can advise on platform selection, model year, roof height, wheelbase, and drivetrain so you buy the right van for the build you want. We occasionally have turnkey builds available for sale directly from our shop as well. Reach out and we'll let you know what's available.
It means every layout is designed around you — your gear, your travel style, and how you actually use your van 90% of the time. We're not pulling from a template library. At the same time, we lean on proven systems, trusted brand partners, and efficient build methods that keep quality high and timelines realistic. The result is a van that feels completely personal without the cost and unpredictability of a fully bespoke build from scratch.
It follows four phases: Dream & Design (we learn how you adventure and design a layout around it), Plan & Prepare (every component sourced before we touch your van), Build & Craft (handbuilt in our Aspen shop), and Test & Deliver (every system verified before keys change hands, with a full walkthrough). You stay informed throughout — no surprises on cost or timeline.
Yes — every build comes with a 1-year warranty from the delivery date covering our workmanship and installed systems. We use premium materials from trusted partners and build rigs we'd use ourselves, so warranty claims are rare. But when something comes up, we take care of it. After-build support doesn't stop at the one-year mark either — we're always reachable.
Zero — filling out the project brief costs you nothing and commits you to nothing. After we review your brief, we'll follow up to schedule a free 15-minute consultation to talk through your project. A deposit is required to secure a build slot, but that comes later, after you've seen a real proposal and decided WRO is the right fit. There's no pressure and no hard sell.
